CAF Draws:ZESCO UNITED TO HOST KAIZER CHEIFS AS NKANA FC DRAW SAN-PEDRO

The CAF Confederation Cup draws made on Friday the 28th of December 2018 saw the Zambian Champions draw South African giants Kaizer Cheifs in what promises to be a ‘mouth watering’ clash in this season’s confederatioion cup play off stage in a bid to qualify for the 201/2019 edition of the CAF Confederation Cup group stages.
Meanwhile the 2018 Barclays Cup Champions F.C Nkana will face San Pedro of Ivory coast.


Both Zambian Teams begin their first leg on home turf on dates TBA either the 11th, 12th or 13th of January 2019. The second leg fixtures will be played on either the 18th, 19th or 20th of January 2018.
Kaizer Cheifs have had a great start to the campaign, winning three of their four games thus far, despite having suffered an embarrassing 2-1 defeat away to Zimamoto in the second leg of the preliminary rounds,
Chiefs advanced on a 5-2 aggregate win.

They then faced Elgeco Plus of Madagascar and hammered them 6-0 on aggregate under the tutelage of Ernst Middendorp.

Zesco United who initially qualified for the Champions league preliminary stage saw off FC Sonidep then put up a spirited fight against African giants TP Mazembe losing 2-1 on aggregate.
F.C Nkana lso demoted from the Champions league Knocked out UD Songo of Mozambique then lost to Simba. The team from wusakile will hope to make amends having lost a first leg 2-1 win at home against S.C Simba then went on to lose 4-3 on aggregate.
If the two Zambian Clubs are successful over the two legs, it would be the first time Two Zambian Clubs participate in the group stage of the CAF CC.
