The love story between Zambia and COSAFA is a better love story than most relations as the Copper Bullets made it to yet another final after a thrilling Semifinal against South Africa. The host nation took the lead in the 44th minute through Mabasa, but Zambia equalized through Golden Mashata in the 50th minute. The match looked to be heading for extra time, but Zambia scored what would be the winner through Albert Kangwanda in the 69th minute to secure their place in the final.

The match was played at a high tempo from the outset, with both teams creating chances. South Africa had the better of the opening exchanges and took the lead through Mabasa, who finished off at close range. Zambia responded well and equalized through Mashata, who fired home from close range equally.

The second half was a more evenly contested affair, however, Zambia eventually broke the deadlock in the 69th minute, when Kangwanda scored a superb free kick that ended up giving Zambia the victory.

The win was a deserved one for Zambia, who were the better team for large parts of the match. They will now face Lesotho in the final, where they will be looking to defend they title. Zambia will be the favorites to win the final, but Lesotho will be hoping to pull off an upset.
