GET TO KNOW JUSTIN SHONGA’S FC GAGRA

FC Gagra is a Georgian football club, which competes in Erovnuli Liga, the first tier of Georgian league system. The club has its origins in Gagra, Abkhazia, but due to the ongoing Abkhaz–Georgian conflict, the team plays its home games in Tbilisi.

Gagra FC was founded in 2004 by former player and coach Goderdzi Chikhradze and his cousin. The club’s original plan was to move to Gagra in the end, but due to the ongoing conflict, this has not been possible.

Despite this, Gagra FC has been a successful club in recent years. They have won the Georgian Cup twice, in 2010 and 2020, and have finished in the top four of the Erovnuli Liga on several occasions.

The club’s home ground is the David Petriashvili Arena in Tbilisi. The stadium has a capacity of 5,000 spectators.

The club’s next match is against FC Samgurali Tsqaltubo on July 22, 2023. The match will be played at the Stadioni 26 Maisi in Tsqaltubo and is scheduled to kick off at 14hrs.
