HEAD COACH “MICHO” UNVEILING

Today marks a day in which our journey with Head Coach Milutin Sredojevic begins and below is what he had to say bout this journey after he was introduced by President Andrew Kamanga:

“Thank you very much President, General Secretary, leaders of FAZ, media and all Zambians; despite the many factors that divide you the Chipolopolo is what unites you and I come before you with the highest respect.” This was his opening statement as the opportunity was granted to him, he further went onto say “I come to you well aware of how Zambians take football seriously and as a coaches we are tasked with making you happy and all the years that I have been in Africa, people have been happy and I would like to continue in that fashion. I am aware of the challenge ahead especially in the AFCON qualifiers were the Chipolopolo have played 2 games with 0 points scoring 1 goal conceding 7 goals and I would like to get to work in the quickest time so that we can restore the pride in the Chipolopolo.”

Micho further stated that “I come with aim of working together with the players both locally and abroad as well as local coaches as they have experience working with the players to achieve unity with everyone including the stake holders.” He further went on to say “Knowing is not enough, we must apply! My technical master plan has 7 phases which represent a pyramid and at the top is the dream that we qualify to the 2022 Qatar World Cup.” Any success in life starts with a dream and our eyes open not just in our sleep he jokingly added. With regards to the upcoming match against Botswana in the AFCON qualifiers on the 26th of March he said “I would like to mention that the match against Botswana even though will be played later the preparations begin now, immediately after this event, as we will have a deep assessment of the state of the players, be it the bracket of local players, the bracket of players playing across Africa and the bracket of those playing world-wide with the aim of getting them into the right frame of mental strength because Zambia does not lack in talent but mental strength.” And went on to say that “with respect to the glorious past and the highest anticipation of a bright future, I am here with a plan to make our team mentally strong, physically fit, tactically competitive, technically competitive and to make sure that we understand the theoretical awareness of what challenges lay ahead.”

In closing remarks Micho stated “I am coming with vast experience over my coaching career and a network of individuals that will work with us and you(being the media) to help make sure that the Chipolopolo is representing every Zambian, from the President to the last citizen recorded.”

The words coming from our Coach are inspiring and uplifting, as followers and lovers of the game that we all love; we can only hope for the best and happy times for our new Coach.
