CHIPOLOPOLO BEAT COMOROS

In what was a must-win match, the Copper Bullets mustered all their strength to deal with whatever challenge Comoros had put up to make sure Zambia wouldn’t defend their title.

The first half ended with both sides failing to penetrate each other’s defense as it ended 0-0. However, with the beginning of the second half, the Copper Bullets showed more desire to win the game and after some slick one-touch football between Kemuka, Moyela and Mulambia, Zambia finally drew first blood with Mulambia unleashing a cracker to give Zambia the lead.

The lead was sustained for a considerable amount of time until some comical errors lead to Comoros grabbing an equalizer. The dye wasn’t cast yet as Coach Sichone made some subs bringing on Mashata and Andrew Phiri who made a clever pass that allowed Mashata to run clear and step up Kangwanda who calmly tapped the ball into an empty net, thus giving the CHIPOLOPOLO a 2-1 victory.

Up next is Seychelles who seat bottom of the group with 0 points.
